Rusted teapot

My teapot rusted after less that a year. I read several reviews with same problem. I was offered a 20% discount on next purchase. My son bought me the teapot when he was just 22 because he felt it was a special piece. I have not told him it turned out to b garbage. OH I forget they offered to send me a damn screw and wing nut to replace the corroded one. Go Fiqure!

Horrible, made in China, Dangerous to use

They offered me a 20% discount on a new tea pot because seeing my photos of broken, chipped, rusted teapot, they said it was unsafe and I should buy a new one... for $400. Also, my enamel pot from MacKenzie-Childs is chipped inside and thus unsafe to use. I only hand washed. Attractive looking lowest quality products. Horrible

Company Lacks Customer Service

I ordered $1000 of wallpaper in April 8. I contacted customer service for a one time courtesy request to return the wallpaper since receiving a diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer. I understand the policy for returns is 30 days, but my meds are 15K per month and I really need that money to help cover my expenses. After requesting 3 times to escalate up the management chain, my request was denied. How sad we live in this world where people are no longer considered and a profitable company like Mackenzie Childs cannot be humane or empathetic.

McKenzie products are made in China!

I was surprised to see my purchase with a "made in China" notation. This adds to my conclusion that there is no logical reason for their ridiculously high prices. Perhaps once upon a time they were artistic products but that is so over.

Poor quality and customer service

I am a big Mackenzie Childs fan. I have many of their items, however the lamp I received was so poorly constructed I can't believe they would mail this out. See pics! Also their customer service is extremely poor. So disappointing from a business that advertises custom quality and good customer service. However they failed to live up tp both!

Poor quality

I purchased Mackenzie Childs coffee mugs from HQ. I read instructions on care and only washed them in sink with soap and water. While washing out cup I noticed a chip at the bottom of the mug down to enamel. It's a good thing I didn't swallow this. Called HQ and they said they only warrant them for 30 days. I paid a lot of money for these cups and expect them to last years with proper care. The quality and reputation of these products have gone downhill. I'm not surprised since they are made in China and I'm sure MC makes a good profit for poor quality. Will never buy this product again.

Unfortunately MacKenzie-Childs is no longer a quality company

Just received a floor mat for which I paid $138, and would not mind if it was the quality that used to be associated with this brand. Unfortunately, it looks like an item you would find at a dollar store, very poor quality. Click on the customer service email link and nothing happens-page not found. Very sad- doesn't look line this company will be in business too much longer. Buyer beware!

Black & White Teapot

I purchased a small black & white teapot and found that they did not use stainless steel scews/washers to attach the decorative top.
After a while I noticed rust had appeared and when I contacted them they said I had it over 60 days and they would do nothing.
Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Whoever heard of not using stainless steel around water.

Not a honest company

Ordered $395.00 worth of merchandise on the 6th of December, was told it would be shipped on the 12th. Was shipped the 23rd and received it on 29 December. I believe they lie to keep your sale. "Just in time for Christmas" Lol.
After wife opened products I was amazed we paid $95.00 for coffee canisters that are made in China. (peeled the stickers off) Not sure why they are advertising on their website now hiring painter, etc. Guess to make it look like they are being made in the U.S.A. $95.00 for a Chinese $5.00 canister. Greed has overcome..

If I ran my business this way I'd be out of business

This company is absolutely the worst internet retailer out there. On 11/21/21 I purchased 4 mugs from them and paid for with affirm. After weeks of writing to their non existent customer service department they tell me that my order was canceled due to a card decline. Absolutely a brazen lie, don't purchase anything from this place the stuff looks great but you may never get it. BTW it still shows as an open order on their website.

Q:

I HAVE a large amount of Mackenzie-childs pots and pans - they are rusting around the top where the chrome ring is attached - scrared to eat from them

A:

Their whole line ---- and I have two households with lots of Mac-Ken products inside and out --- is whimsical, happy, quirky... almost unique. It is NOT quality. Never was... Their products from kitchenware to chairs are for view, not for use. There is no quality in any of it. Just recently, I paid to have their kitchen side fish chair (almost $2K) repaired, my cost, by a furniture restorer here. It's a cute piece but is NOT for daily use. We owned it only two months and are empty nesters in a pandemic --- almost no use. STill, it's not for a large person. We are not large... Their tuffet arrived with one stool leg broken. These are pieces, once only American made, now coming from nearly everywhere else. Still, whimsical if you can get them. But don't order anything that you are not willing to lose the cost. And if it does arrive intact --- a $700 lampshade arrived with its lamp missing --- take care; you may not want to use it. That's the truth. And, again, I have two houses full of merchandise. But I am buying no more... until IF this ever resolves itself. The word is the company is going to fold.

A:

I would not use MC pots I don't trust their quality for cookware, don't think it's safe for food preparation. I get pieces that don't need to be heated.
